I used this for a wedding and was able to pack my phone, lipstick, lip balm, powder, a small makeup brush, and a travel Kleenex pack. The top of the purse still flipped down to create the envelope appearance, and it didn't look awkwardly bulky. I purchased this purse in gold, and my main complaint is the material around the zipper - it's a beige/taupe color and looks kind of tacky. I gave it three stars for this reason. The seller contacted me and offered to refund my money, or send a black bag for free. I chose to receive the black version of this bag. The zipper material matches perfectly, so I changed my rating to four stars.Lastly, a lot of cute purses snag on lace clothing. A smart, dressy evening bag that has room for more than a phone and a lipstick. A cute little clutch used to be fine, but time and the fates have changed my situation. I have developed diabetes (have to carry my paraphernalia with me at all times) and my eyes tire more quickly (have to have my eyeglasses to swap out with my contacts.) This bag is soft sided, generously sized, and closes securely so I can carry everything I need and not worry about it popping open from being overstuffed. The metallic mesh is more sophisticated than a lot of other evening bag materials (IMO), but no less dressy... and I just love the smart fold-over envelope style. I have an older silver mesh bag that is, perhaps, heavier and better quality (and smaller) but I also paid an arm and a leg for it (and have used it only twice.) This gold bag is lighter weight, but very nicely constructed, and is an absolute bargain for the pizzazz and utility it offers as a once-in-a-while special occasion accessory.
