Can't be repaired. *by W***. on November 26, 2025* Purchased this winch in 2021. Used it lightly for 4 years. It failed while using it recently. The resistance through the battery connectors was down to less than one ohm. This was causing my 12 volt lithium ion battery pack to shut down due to overcurrent. I took it apart and determined that the magnetic brake has a short. I disconnected the wires to the brake and the winch is working again, but without the electronic braking function. I would consider this to be a manufacturer defect. But, the product is past warranty. I sent email to Bravex customer service (service@bravextools.com) to ask about purchasing the replacement part. They said that parts are not available. (But offered a small discount on purchasing the entire winch -- at a higher price than Amazon!) I won't be purchasing any Bravex products in the future if they do not sell replacement parts.
