These tips are still going strong in harsh winter conditions (rain, mud, some snow, some freezing temps) -- for about two months, possibly three months for the longest user. We'll have to see how much use we end up getting out of them in the end but so far we are very impressed and the price out of pocket is very reasonable for what positive benefits the crutch users are reporting (and peace of mind). So, the user experience is much improved with these crutch tips, the budget & price point are very friendly, the peace of mind is very good, and we will buy more in the future when needed, but so far these are working well and are long lasting / durable in comparison to the previous tips we've had access to. Is that what they mean?** A: Just received this item a few days ago. The were two crutch tips in the package. Apparently whoever wrote that description did not go to the same school that you and I did, where we learned that a pair is two. They do work great; I have tile floor in bathroom, was always concerned about slipping. Still need to be careful, though. **Q: How well do these work on crutches?** A: These tips will work great on both canes and crutches. Just make sure that the bottom of the crutch is no longer than 1". They are a chore to get on when they are almost 1", but they will fit with patience. **Q: I just need 5/8 inch cane tip. Do I need to order all three sizes? It seems unlikely it will stay on a 5/8 inch shaft if it also fits a 1 inch shaft.** A: There is only one size, it will for your 5/8 cane. The tip is designed to stretch to accommodate any shaft from 5/8 to 1 inch. The rubber that is used has high tensile properties which allows side accommodation as well as excellent traction and stickiness. It will work just fine with your cane.
