(This is not the limit of the tool's range; just my experience.) There should be no problem whatsoever with .078". **Q: Do you have the 20-12 version?** A: We have a 20-14 version **Q: Will the jaws accept : 0.105” ferrels?** A: Not recommended for ferrels, search for the auto crimpers for ferrels. This crimp tool is for terminal pins to insert into connectors. It punches 4 dimples on the terminal to secure the conductor inside it. **Q: Where can I find the ferrules for the unit ?** A: This doesn't do ferrules, it just crimps PINS on the wire ends.
