Must read before buying
Delivery: the box arrives without the amazon box, if left outside door or in any unsafe area, everyone will be aware of the product.Unboxing: extremely easy to unbox, but not suitable for gift. Impossible to remove the labels of the delivery without damaging the box. Everything inside is perfectly safe and organise.First use: The machine comes with one easy to cut pladtic roll and different bags in 2 size, Medium and Large. It comes as well with the tools to adapt to the FoodSaver reusable bags.VERY IMPORTANT: THE MACHINE DOESN'T HAVE ANY POSSIBILITY TO CUT THE PLASTIC ROLL, LIKE MANY OTHERS. You mush use your own equipment to make sure to have a straight cut on the bag.To activate the machine you must press very firm on both side, and then activate the vacuum. Because of the energy needed to close the cover, I would recommend to do the extra-insurance, the machine is a middle-range but not the cheapest. For your info: the Nisbets Vacuum Pack Bags (any size) are not suitable for this machine. The machine once activated works extremely well, doesn't make too much noise - but still is not a silent machine. On the top you will find 4 green lights and 1 red light all in one line, that are indicative of the progress while the machine is in use, once the light are off, and you open the top cover, the bag is ready to be used.ANOVA/or similar users: the machine if used with high quality bags, offers the possibility to increase the quality of the final results.

Just works.
I use this device for vacuum-packing squishy items to get them small enough to post with Royal Mail's 2nd Class Large Letter rate (£1) instead of Small Parcel (£3).I tried a cheaper unit before and it was just not much cop. This one works well and is easy to use. I've had it for 6 months or so and done at least 50 jobs with it. No issues at all.

Seals before all air is removed
This is a nice looking compact machine. However after about 15 attempts I had three well vacuumed bags. I was careful to follow the instructions, leaving plenty of room at the top of the bags. It seemed very hit and miss. Mostly, it missed. The sealing process is fiddly and the sealing starts before all the air is removed. I would not recommend.

Not as powerful as expected and a bit pricey for the performance

Useful kitchen addition
I bought this for my husband who deals with all kitchen things. He loves it. Freezer is very tidy now and food doesn't get freezer burn.

Don't be afraid to push down on the lid...
Firstly, thanks to the seller for sorting out a speedy replacement unit when the first was damaged in the post. One tip I would hand on to purchasers is that you need to press down on the lid quite firmly for the lid to lock into position. I was a bit too tentative at first which led me to believe the unit was faulty.

Love it!
Splitting and sealing larger amounts of food, freezing food from the garden. Love it!

Clumsy, no guillotine, very difficult to press lid down to engage power mode. Bad design
Basic unit, does not store the roll of bags or cut them in any way. Useyou owns scissors job.Simple instructions, but we found it difficult to get this to work. There are two positions to the lid, not explained at all well, or well designed.1st press catches the lid down, but the bag still slips out as there is a drop to the work surface, tricky to hold the bag when it insists on curling up.2nd press pushes the lock buttons out, not at all obvious at first as they are already half out and the line is visible. We found considerable pressure is needed by the thumbs to reach the full lock stage, which turns on the power.I could do it as a strongman, but myOr wife could not get it to fully lock at all and declared it not fir for purpose.I was most unimpressed, its slow to prepare for usage, difficult to lock into position, the whole process is slow and clumsy. We had to vac a load of chicken for freezing and used ourupmarket model with a guillitine and auto bag sensor and sealer instead, well worth the extra money.
