The plastic rod was much easier and better. The cheaper rod gets stuck and doesn’t advance smooth. Overtime they’ve made changes. But this time the machine does not work. The roll bents since they changed the part that holds the soiled material from plastic to cardboard. My dog is 14 lbs and we roll often to avoid soiling excessively.
