The bad reviews are always much more revealing about the product. The Skechers Go Walk Max met what I was looking for, so I took a chance despite reading the few lukewarm reviews. I have been pleasantly surprised so far. I own another pair of Skechers (the Go Walk Pro Arch), and they have held up pretty well after a year. I bought this second pair in size 10.5, extra-wide, and they are true to size, lightweight, and comfy with the extra room I require. I bought the all-black version so I could wear them with suits and not feel incongruous. They don't call attention to themselves so the fashion police call me out. Still, they definitely look like "old man" shoes. I don't care because I am, in fact, an old man and I've begun to accept my fate. And, I have yet to make those last steps toward the grave while wearing velco-strap shoes. Just a word of caution to the fashion-conscious, though: these shoes ain't what I'd consider "pretty."
