The cables necessary to connect the drive are in place inside the HP TP01-2137c, and Windows 11 recognized that the drive is there. The mechanism that opens the drive is a bit weak, and you may have to help it open and close, but really, how often do you need to put a CD in the drive? I can play my own previously-burned DVDs, but this OSGear drive will not play store-bought DVDs. I can play these same DVDs via an external (USB) cd/dvd player (two different ones), but they will not play at all with this OSGear drive although I can see that it is detecting them. I'm not sure why that is, but since that's not my primary intended use-case I haven't investigated further. --- Follow-up: After I investigated and installed the "regionset" package, I was able to discover that the drive came pre-configured for Region 2.
