## Description

CHARLOTTE PIPE 3 DWV Two-Way CLEANOUT DWV (Drain, Waste and Vent) (1 Unit Piece)

Review: Sizing and fitment (usability with various pipes) - This did NOT fit 4" SDR35. However, it DID fit the Belled end of 4" SDR35. I think this might be schedule 40, and it also seems to fit 4" ABS pipes. We used this on the drainfield end of a septic system (between the tank and field, where we had SDR35 in the ground). We have all sorts of fittings for excavation, and needed to add this to SDR35 in an existing system, so here's what I was planning: (1) glue in 4" abs into each end and connect with a rubber coupler, or (2) glue in the belled ends of SDR35 on the ends and couple from there. However, as we were going through options, this is what we did in order to avoid rubber couplers: (1) Cut two belled ends off SDR35 pipes to use as sleeves. Standard couplers have an outside diameter that is too big, whereas the belled ends on pipes are a bit smaller and fit fairly well. (2) Dug the dirt back around 2' on each side of where we wanted to install this cleanout. Removing extra dirt allows for the pipe to become more circular since it tends to compress a bit "oval" after backfill, so digging back extra on each end allows installation to be easier, and helps with the next steps. (3) Cut out the existing pipe, where you want to install this, around 2-3" more than this coupler. (4) Slid the "sleeves" over the existing pipe that were in the ground AND made sure there was a few inches of sliding space so there'd be glue between the sleeve and the existing pipe. (5) Applied glue to one side of the coupler AND immediately applied between the sleeve and existing pipe. Quickly pushed one end together. Make sure the existing pipe is around 1" back from the end of the sleeve (since you cut 2-3" extra out of the original pipe). (6) Do the same on the other end. Keep in mind how long your sleeves are, so you center the assembly. Since we cut an extra 2-3" out of the original line = on the inside, the original pipe should be 1-2" back from the end of the interior of the sleeve. Hopefully this makes sense - it's difficult to explain. We don't use SDR40, so I didn't have those couplers/pipe to experiment. Maybe there's a better option, but the way we installed it allowed us to avoid rubber couplers, which we feel is a better quality finish.
Review: Same quality than HD for less. - Good quality
