The 32 ounces were packaged in four 8 ounce plastic tubs with lids. I liked that as opposed to plastic bags. The reason I didn't give a 5 rating is because I was hoping for the texture to be as pictured. That way I could be assured that it was indeed raw and unrefined. The shea butter appeared as though it had been slightly melted for packaging purposes. That being said, I would definitely order it again. It was off white and not hard. AND I'm pretty sure that it is pure and unrefined. I've ordered yellow shea butter from another vendor and I started itching!! I use this one from head to toe.
