be careful about which way the switch is aimed...

I needed on/on/on mini toggle switched for a guitar build. Everyone in the world has DPDT, 6 pin, 3 position switched...but most of them are on/off/on--be very careful if you want the on/on/on, because they look exactly like the on/off/on.When you're using them, the center pins are your input and output respectively (it doesn't matter which center pin you use for what). You will see a notch cut into one side of the threaded shaft of the switch, and I arbitrarily decided that that would be "position one". But when the switch is in "position one", the two pins at that end of the switch are not the ones activated; it is the two pins at the OTHER end of the switch, and vice versa. With the switch in "position two" (handle straight up) the two center pins are activated.Aside from that tiny bit of confusion, these are great switches--in fact, I just bought more.

    Very versatile switch for guitars

I recently learned that these ON-ON-ON switched even exist, mentioned in online forums etc. A common way to use them is as a SP3T switch, for example to select one of three different tone caps. Check guitar wiring forums for more details. One side note, the first time I ordered, I received ON-OFF-ON SPDT switches, which look the same but of course are not the same. I returned and reordered, got the correct ones. Probably a rare mix up, but double check them just in case, so you don't miss the return window.

Great switch. There are two types of On/On/On... check to make sure you know which one you have before wiring.

Great little switch. There are two types of On/On/On switch: Check to be sure you have/need the configuration you THINK you do. ;)Good build (don't overheat!), great price, on-schedule delivery.(Tip -- if you have to connect-and-jump a wire (across terminals), try this: strip the wire so it's naked for the full run between the terminal posts, solder the first leg [right where the stripping *ends*], then clip a little off the stripped/discarded insulation [to leave room for the solder joints at each end] and slip it back on the previously-stripped end protruding from the just-soldered lug (easier with solid than stranded wire), optionally with a little shrink-tubing, then solder the other end of the "jump," and just clip off any extra. Voila; ONE wire to solder into that little hole instead of two, and no naked wire to short out. [The shrink tubing often shrinks from the transmitted heat of the soldering alone with only some hot-air touch-up needed for the 'cooler' end])
