The instructions recommended not to use Alkaline batteries as they would shorten the life of the battery powered clock's motor. The manufacturer recommended the old fashioned carbon zinc batteries for longer clock motor life. Carbon Zinc batteries are not easy to find anymore, so when I saw the 16 pack on desertcart, I ordered them immediately. These batteries work perfectly, and in my clock, they last about 2 - 3 months before replacement is needed. I would buy these again. Review: Last Long - These are pretty good batteries so far ## Features - Heavy duty battery 1.5V - Guaranteed good till 2019 or longer - 8 AA batteries ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01MRIEFR8 | | Antenna Location | Clock | | Battery Capacity | 1.5 volts | | Battery Cell Composition | Zinc Carbon | | Battery Cell Type | Zinc Carbon | | Battery Weight | 21 g | | Best Sellers Rank | #13,429 in Health & Household ( See Top 100 in Health & Household ) #41 in AA Batteries | | Brand | Panasonic | | Compatible Phone Models | Samsung Galaxy S6 | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 8,377 Reviews | | Item Dimensions | 0.02 x 0.02 x 0.02 inches | | Item Weight | 9.07 g | | Manufacturer | Panasonic | | Model Name | Panasonic | | Model Number | 5741 | | Number of Batteries | 8 AA batteries required. | | Recommended Uses For Product | Clock | | Reusability | Single Use | | UPC | 643665985741 | | Unit Count | 8 Count | | Voltage | 1.5 volts | | Warranty Description | AQS | ## Product Details - **Battery Capacity:** 1.5 Volts - **Battery Cell Composition:** Zinc Carbon - **Brand:** Panasonic - **Number of Batteries:** 8 AA batteries required. - **Recommended Uses For Product:** Clock ## Images ![Panasonic 5741 8PC AA Batteries Super Heavy Duty Power Carbon Zinc Double A Battery 1.5V, Black (Pack of 8) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71J6PzicXmL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These carbon zinc batteries work great in my wall clock. *by D***R on June 7, 2026* I bought a new large wall clock for the family room.
