This fall fertilizer builds strong, deep grass roots for a better lawn next spring, delivering the nutrients needed to help recover from damage caused by summer heat, drought, and activity. Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Lawn Food is for use on any grass type. Apply the product to a wet or dry lawn. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product. For Scotts® broadcast/rotary spreaders, use a setting of 2 3/4. For Scotts® drop spreaders, use a setting of 6. If fast results are desired, lightly water the product in after application; however, watering-in is not required. Return unused product to original container, and sweep any product that lands on the driveway, sidewalk, or street back onto your lawn. **Q: What is the amounts of nitrogen, phosphours and potassium?**
A: It's 35-0-10 and in response to someone else; it's not gonna kill bermuda lawns using it over time :-/ .  Been using this stuff since the 90's no issues.  What kills lawns using fertilizer is when you keep using and using and using.  Use it right the first time no issues will come.

**Q: May I apply it now (today is June 1, 2015)?**
A: If you apply this fertilizer that contain 34-0-10 then the nitrogen will stimulate top growth which is not what you want in the winter time due to freezing weather. It's better to apply like 10-2-7 in winter. That way the roots are stimulated and not top growth.

**Q: Is it safe to apply this fall lawn food to newly sprouted grass seed?  The grass is about 2 weeks old.**
A: Avoid fertilizing any newly seeded lawn until after the 4th mowing.  Scotts offers a fertilizer for newly seeded lawns that is safe to apply and recommended.

**Q: Will this work well in September in zone 9b, lower foothills of California central valley?**

This product may be applied at any time during the growing season, although it is especially beneficial in the fall as a "last feeding" because of the high potassium content. Provides a nice green color when soaks into ground. A bag covers my front and back lawns. Best lawn on the block. Good value and easier to have delivered to my door. Saves having to carry myself from store. Scott is a great product and use all their fertilizers.
