I am not sure this answers your question. If not, please elaborate. **Q: Does this model show 'wind chill"?** A: Yes, it shows wind chill. You can also see it in MAX/MIN mode. **Q: Does the outdoor sensors have solar power of do you need to be able to change batteries** A: Yes, the outdoor sensor is powered by a solar panel but you also have to have the back up batteries in place or the outdoor unit will not work. Managed to connect it to the modem and weather underground but cannot get it to transmit data. I've had mine now for about 9 months (not via Amazon) and it has proved very reliable. The results do seem to be accurate when I've had a chance to compare them with other sources of data. These things are always fiddly to install and set up but plodding gently through the instructions will get you working and connected to Wunderground and other services if you wish. This is my second weather station, the other (at another location) is the Aercus Instruments™ WeatherSleuth® , also sold under other names. This is better in all respects. I prefer the physical form of this one, the absence of a separate receiver and separate indoor sensor and the neat indoor display.
