USB Recording – what is it? The last few years more and more TV’s are equipped with one or more USB port(s). We have already grown accustomed to playing back photos and movies from a USB hard drive or USB stick on the TV. Now an additional USB feature has been added to TV sets – USB Recording. I already own a 500Mb USB 2.0 version which I was impressed with, this unit is even better. Its a wee bit expensive but like anything in this world you get what you pay for. Highly recommend this product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Can't pack your data much smaller (at the moment...) *by M***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 October 2012* This drive is fantastically small, much smaller than many other 2.5" drives. I own several Freecom XS and XXS drives, I am very happy with them, I love the feel of the build with the black rubber coating. This XXS drive actually bulges a tiny little bit where the connector is internally soldered(?) to the circuitry board, which is a small dent (I mean, bulge) in the appearance - I am sure this was not intended in the original design, but is due to (cheap?) production... The micro-USB3.0 plug on the drive plugs in quite hard, and without a distinct feel of "snapping in" - again: assembly with cheap parts?Anyway, I am happy with it as a hard drive, speed is very good (max I achieved was ~110MB/s, but I didn't put it to extensive testing), and it's nearly inaudible. I've got two of these (bought separately from different sellers), so far no problems. Unlike the Toughdrive 3.0 I also bought, this little drive will happily power up on any USB 2.0 and 3.0 port I tried so far.One little complain, but not about the product: I ordered from Kikatek, and the blister pack it comes in (the other one I bought elsewhere was in a cardboard box) was just put into an unpadded plastic envelope, so no padding to speak of for a hard drive in the hands of UK Royal Mail! :-S - I left seller feedback accordingly, maybe they will change this now. - The drive did survive it as far as I can tell, and is working... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Four Stars *by X***6 on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 December 2014* Perfect tool to do back up.
