Review: Very charismatic and polished game. - This game is very entertaining. You can play 4 player on on Xbox 360, in split screen. There might be a bit of screen degradation, to display 4 player split screen, but play back is still silky smooth. Very nice implementation of the Cryware Engine. Maps are all inventive and colorful. My 7 y.o. loves playing it, and can play it without any problems and comes in first almost always on the easy setting, and can place first a lot of times on the medium setting, and can sometimes place in the top 3 on hard, so the difficulty settings are good for those with novice skills. I play with her quite often, and enjoy the heck out of the game. We have played at least 4 hours in the title, and just scratched the surface of the title, with plenty of characters to unlock and a bunch of maps, characters and modes left to unlock. (I think the game has 10 characters unlocked by default with 9 or 10 left to unlock in the game) I look forward to seeing what else this title has to offer. I think Sega is planning more DLC for it as well. Sega gifted Alex Kidd on Christmas day. I'd love to see Vanellope von Schweetz as a DLC character. A couple of things of note for ease of access to the game. The controls for flying were very difficult for my 7 year old, and not too easy for me frankly. The game detects if you are having difficulty flying and offers to invert the controls, and offer flying aids, which makes it much more accessible for a younger gamer, and even myself, not to become to frustrated over sections of the game. Kudos to the developer for offering this. Also there are stages, that aren't racing against opponents but time challenges, and these are very difficult, in my opinion, but if you fail them (I think 3 times), the game lets you skip that portion of the career mode, and go on to the next track. This game is a highly polished kid's racing game that parents will appreciate and have fun with too. Giving it 5 stars. Hopefully they won't price DLC too high. Graphics are fun, bright, imaginative and colorful. This is a very polished racer, and Sega should be proud.
Review: Closest thing to Mario Kart I've found for Xbox One, and fun entry in the genre. - I wanted something akin to Mario Kart to play on My Xbox One X, so I ordered this hoping it would at least be a playable clone. In my opinion, it actually competes fairly well with the 'Kart franchise, and is a blast to play. It heavily borrows some elements, while introducing enough new concepts to (almost) have its own identity. While you can tell it's an Xbox 360 game, the graphics hold up well and the performance and load times are fine. Getting multiple accounts signed in is a little bit of a hassle, as is figuring out how to change settings for that player (must be in a race), but it's not too bad with a quick Google search. I don't feel like it benefits much from the extra horsepower, but overall it's a good experience... I had one lock up in 10 or so hours of playing, otherwise it's been rock solid. There's plenty of content and play modes, lots to unlock, and it's very accessible. On the easy difficulty you can get by with limited racing/kart experience and without having to drift or aim that well, and at higher difficulty you can showcase your skills (or get punished for drifting off course hehe). The characters have a progression element although it's not hard to level them up, and once you have you can prioritize speed, handling, acceleration, etc. It's not overly deep, but adds a nice element of customization if your favorite character is too slow by default. I've mostly been playing split screen, haven't tried 4 player yet, but 2 works just fine. The different vehicle modes add a bit of challenge, more so to newer players, but it's not too hard to get the controls down and get caught up fairly quickly.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very entertaining and visually satisfying game
*by C***C on December 22, 2014*

Bought this for my 5 year old son who is a huge fan of the Disney Pixar Cars. He also has 2 of the Pixar Cars XBox 360 games and used to play these when we let him, which was not very often. He would go for weeks without touching the console, which was fine with us. This game was his introduction to Sonic and now the first thing he wants to do when he gets home from school is to play this game. We actually value it too as it serves as a reward when we need him to do something for his own good, not to mention it's good for developing his reflexes and manual skills. He's already mastered the easy level and it's time to move up the skill level. The game looks fantastic, the tracks are well designed, entertaining and challenging enough without being too difficult which would be a turn off especially for kids. Most tracks and drivers are locked at first to stimulate interest - you unlock them as you play the career mode. Controlling your vehicle is well balanced between physics and pleasure. The motion is smooth and fluid, not blurry or choppy like in some games. This game is never a flickering eyesore like some other games. The only violence in the game are those items you can pick up as you drive and launch at other vehicles. I'm completely opposed to having anything like that in challenge-based games as it warps the sense of sportsmanship but here it's executed so innocently that even a purist like myself tends to forgive it. XBox 360 does not have a wide selection of kids games like Nintendo and this one is the best one I've seen so far. Money well spent.
