The facilitator had used part of the book to show us in an interactive way how natural it is for older kids to get jealous when the younger sibling arrives by citing some of the phrases that asked to imagine that your husband comes home, puts his arm around you and says something like 'I love you so much and therefore decided to take another wife who is just like you'; and other scenes such as imagining that the new wife is quite cute, and all visitors are enthusiastic when they see her; also, since you have taken on some weight, your husband goes to your wardrobe and takes out some of your old clothes for the new wife, etc.When I bought the book, I found that it contained lots more examples that made you aware of how important it is to regularly also take the perspective of the child. The cover of the book looks quite cheap, but the content is of high quality and seems very professional. It is easy to read - and I personally often just skim through the pages and only read the cartoons, which show the 'do and don't ' ways of communicating with your children in order to reduce sibling rivalry. Having an older and a younger sibling myself, I can only confirm that what the author says is true, and I will try my best to follow her advice, so that hopefully there will be less resentment and rivalry between my own children. I find that some of her practical tips already work with my (3- and 1-year old) children, f.ex. one of the cartoons shows that if an older child hits his younger sibling, one should not give the attention to the perpetrator (which is what he wants, even if it is negative attention), but take it away from him and focus on the victim instead. Overall, I think it is an extremely helpful book, and I am even thinking of offering it to one of my sisters, who has two older children. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing books every parent should read *by I***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 30 August 2017* Amazing books every parent should read! Easy read, the images of the examples are easy to remember (maybe even photocopy and put somewhere in your house where you can see them to remember what to do in those cases when you need to!), your children will thank you! I was happily surprised to receive 4 books instead of 3, my bundle included "How to talk to kids will learn at home and school".
