When we had our son circumcised we could only use vasaline, and a lot of it to protect the area as no stitches were needed due to the cut method. Since then we have carried on using vasaline but we brought this one as it has a lovely baby powder smell but not strong. Our son is nearly 5months old and we started using this vasaline from 6weeks of age ISH. We have never had a problem it works well for under his little fat chin due to sweat and dribble. It is a very big tub and one lasts us around 4 to 5 weeks (we are way too heavy handed with it). I would never use anything else now.
