Review: Can be tart or sweet but provides easily absorbed iron for the body. - This is very tart tasting but easily modified with a little honey. It is 2% iron so is being used as a food source easily absorbed by the body and easy on the body systems. Can be prepared with hot water and honey as a delicious dirnk.
Review: The best for an upset stomach - I've used Eden Ume Plum paste for decades. I hope it will always be available. It's the best for an upset stomach. You don't have to use very much at all, and the jar lasts forever. I even travel with a small container of it (and leave the Pepto Bismal on the pharmacy shelf lol).

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How is this product different from Umeboshi Paste ?**
A: Umeboshi Paste: A citric acid sour condiment of pickled, pureed umeboshi plums. Ume Plum Concentrate: A 30 times concentrate of ume plum. It captures the plum's essence in a thick black concentrate called bainiku ekisu. (Note: not pickled, no salt.) Same original ingredient for both, but different processing, different results, different purposes. Read up on both at Eden Foods website.

**Q: Does this have caffeine?**
A: No way. Plums don’t have any caffeine.

**Q: How is this presented? is it in a jar? squeezable packets? scoop it out with a spoon? how many servings per 'box'?**
A: It is a paste and in a jar. You could get it out with the small spoon. I have no idea how many servings because I don’t know what it’s being used for

**Q: Describe the taste? thx**
A: Ume is a pickled Japanese plum thus the taste is sour and salty, very salty. It is often used with chiso leaves in rice balls, to add flavor to rice and rice soup, etc. I also use it in a savory oatmeal (with pepper and a touch of margarine).

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rich plum flavor
*by T***K on October 11, 2025*

The taste of tea made from this concentrate is terrific, with a tart, rich plum flavor. When paired with honey, it's even better! This is a very good quality product that lasts a long time because you only need a tiny spoonful to make a cup of tea, so it's definitely good value for the money.
