It is used to flavor and preserve food and beverages. It is also used to make certain varieties of candies due to its sour taste. While buying sour candies, we often find them being covered with a white powder, which is nothing but citric acid. Some brands of ice cream use citric acid, as it acts as an emulsifier and helps in keeping fat globules away Today, it is also used in making beauty products and is mixed with sodium bicarbonate to make bath tablets and bath fizzes. Moreover, they are also used in some lotions and skin masks. It acts as an antioxidant which helps in refreshing skin, thereby, preventing the skin from sagging and making you look old. In addition to that, it has properties to destroy free radicals and promote skin growth. It has the capacity to break down proteins available in meats and as such is mixed with meat to make it soft and tender. Moreover, it is also used during the manufacturing process of cheese, as it helps in clotting milk faster. It is also used in the production of sourdough breads like rye bread. Bath bombs only take seconds to make, so it is important to have the ingredients on hand and measured before you start. Most of the ingredients are pantry staples in many homes, but make sure you have these on hand: citric acid and baking soda and epsom salt Because citric acid kills bacteria, mold, and mildew, it's great for general disinfecting and cleaning. It's also effective at removing soap scum, hard water stains, calcium deposits, lime, and rust. Also, it serves as a preservative in many cleaning solutions. One of the common uses is in preparation of kitchen and bathroom cleaning agents. If you don't want to scrub glass to remove water stains, you can opt to use a solution of citric acid and just wipe it, the stain would clear immediately. Citric acid is a wonderful product for treating several skin problems like mild acne, pigmentation, clogged pores, sun tanning, wrinkles, and dark spots. Lemons, oranges, and certain berries contain citric acid in large quantities. You can apply citric acid on the skin, in the form of peels, toners, scrubs or masks. Industrial uses of citric acids are many and it is mainly used in algicides, animal feed, circuit boards, enhanced oil recovery, fertilizer micronutrients, pet food, etc. It is hard to picture but apart from kitchens it is also used in industries such as paint, paper, pharmaceuticals, textiles, etc. ## Features - Crazy John 100% food grade Pure Citric Acid Crystals 1kg pack - citric acid crystals - Perfect for use for water softening, and more - Premium Food Grade Citric Acid - Great for descaling dishwashers, coffee pots, water faucets ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B0745CDVJG | | Best Sellers Rank | #65,048 in Health & Personal Care (See Top 100 in Health & Personal Care) #27 in Citric Acid | | Brand Name | CRAZY JOHN | | Container Type | Packet | | Contains Liquid Contents | No | | Country Of Origin | India | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars (239) 4.3 out of 5 stars | | Item Form | Powder | | Item Weight | 1 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | m.h.impex, mhimpex@hotmail.com, www.crazyjohnindia.com | | Manufacturer Contact Information | mhimpex@hotmail.com, www.crazyjohnindia.com | | Material Features | Vegetarian | | Number Of Items | 1 | | Part Number | MH 155 | | Product Benefits | Softening | | Size | 1 kg (Pack of 1) | | Unit Count | 1000.0 Grams | ## Product Details - **Brand:** CRAZY JOHN - **Flavour:** Grapefruit - **Net Quantity:** 1000.0 Grams - **Item Form:** Powder - **Item Weight:** 1 Kilograms - **Diet Type:** Vegan - **Product Benefits:** Softening - **Age Range (Description):** Adult - **Package Information:** Packet - **Number of Items:** 1 ## Images ![CRAZY JOHN Citric Acid Powder (1 Kg Pack),1 Count,1000 Grams - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81rfRrcBlPL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Citric acid powder. Did its job . *by on Reviewed in India 13 August 2020* Good quality product. I am happy for having brought it. From Amazon on line.even though it is priced a bit high. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Crazy john for a crazy work *by on Reviewed in India 19 June 2018* I ask myself how in the world did I end up buying this product and then I realize how profound is the impact of Youtube on us ! :)My problem - my bathroom floors with off white tiles are quick to gather dirt, mud and water stains. Cleaning them requires significant physical strength- getting on your knees with brush and scrubber in hand and doing rigorous brushing ! The tiles do turn out to be swell and white and make you feel proud for a job well done. But I could never be consistent with this activity only to realize that am back to square one in a few weeks!Solution - I saw on YouTube of an easier way to get the job done. Mix equal portion of Citric acid granules + Baking soda and dissolve this in dish washing paste. (More details on youtube). Apply them on the floor and leave them. Clean the floor with ease without much hard labor. Problem solved !Pros of Crazy John citric acid -1. Company specializes in manufacture of niche stuff like citric acid- go with the expert!2. Product smelled of genuine strong lemon odour3. Consistently good reviews - I prefer to try new products only when I see good verified purchase reviews4. Outcome from usage of the product was as intended! - clean floors5. I liked the name- Crazy John :) though it's from Chennai!Cons -1. Price wise I found it to be relatively expensive though the 1 kgs box will last me few months, but didnt see any cheaper options though the hunt is ON. Hence the 4 star! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product *by on Reviewed in India 14 April 2021* Great product with performance as expected ## Frequently Bought Together - CRAZY JOHN Citric Acid Powder (1 Kg Pack),1 Count,1000 Grams - Desire Baking Soda Powder for Cooking & Cleaning – 1kg Jar | Multipurpose, Food Grade, Non-GMO | Ideal for Baking, Deodorizing & Household Cleaning - VITSZEE White Cleaning Distilled Vinegar 1L for Household surface Cleaner Glass Stainless Steel, Ceramic Vegetables Fruits washer, Lime Scale Remover Odor Removal Multipurpose --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/64759881-crazy-john-citric-acid-powder-1-kg-pack-1-count](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/64759881-crazy-john-citric-acid-powder-1-kg-pack-1-count) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
