Not too heavy and not too light. Just ideal for its size.I needed a large tava which could handle an omelette and two-three large slices of bread at the same time so I would not have to repeatedly cook things separately. This is perfect. I can pour a two-egg omelette on one side and easily heat 2-3 slices of bread of the other side at the same time. You can easily distribute the heat on a gas burner by moving the tava around on the flame where you need heat or to cool it a bit.And all in one go. This easily saves me 50% of my cooking time.I've also tried stuffed omelettes on this with the eggs on one side and the stuffing on the other and even that worked beautifully.So if you are looking for a tava which can save you precious cooking time and give you time instead to enjoy your cooking then this is a very good deal.It is cheaper than many others being sold here. It is the nonstick item that lasted longest at my home.BUT, just after a 3-4 uses the tawa bent badly. the center pop upand edges bent downward making it really hard to make anything. We just use it to roast bread slices.Anything with batter (chilla, dosa, etc) cannot be made as the batter rolls of on the bent surface.Not sure if it is supposed to be used in commercial kitchen with large burners.
