No, they do not bend, so far. They are VERY sharp!!! **Q: 14.6 is that the height of the block with or with out the knives in it, my current knife set is 14 high with the knives in it** A: Counter to top of tallest knife handle is 13.25 inches **Q: is it forged ?** A: The set of 14 appear to be stamped rather than forged. While all sets appear to have a full tang, only the ones with a bolster will be forged. The chef’s knife, from the set of 14, is thinner towards the edge of blade which makes for easier slicing. The set of 9 is really excellent value. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars It says Amazon basic , but it's written made in china, just saying I am not judging the product. *by D***R on Reviewed in India on 23 May 2021* Coming to the product itself , I have used it for about an year by now , and yes the knife set is pretty good specially the chef's knife and honing rod( it's very handy to have around), there were time where it was subjected to a rough handling session, but the knifes were sturdy including the box there was no damage .Getting into more detail , I can tell it was heat tempered on the Rockwell scale around 58 or less , the steel is soft and tough , so the edge retention is little low u will have to use honing rod before every cooking session , and put it on grit every month or so . Then you can straighten the edge every time you use it with the given tool and get a pocket sharpener too. It'll be helpful when dealing with surprise ingredients not cutting properly like stone apple or squash.The only complaint is that the food, whatever I cut, fruits, veggies, herbs, cheese and butter, It STICKS to the knife every single time. So, the only solution is to have it polished by a professional. Unfortunately, I don't have someone like that near me. I have also had some "fancier" knives over time as well including a Victorinox chef's knife and a Shun santoku knife. So when I started looking to replace my knife set, I started looking at various different brands.My main goal was to find a balance between the quality of the knives and the cost, as in many cases, knives can get expensive pretty quickly. I also knew that I didn't really need the steak knives that often come with these sets because we hardly entertain, which means not a significant need for steak knives.When I saw these, I thought "This can't be for real for this price..."The knives work well, offering all the sizes and types I need for basic cooking. They are balanced fairly well, and while I could see some people not liking the plastic handles rather than wood, it doesn't really bother me. They are comfortable both in my grip and also in my wife's, who has smaller hand than I do. We find them easy to work with, from meats to fruits and veggies. They feel pretty solid, and appear to be full tang knives (all one piece of metal down through the handle, not welded together).
