While I have little experience using these notebooks with brush pens, I find that stiff-nibbed fountain pens glide across the paper with ease. **Q: Are the notebooks lined AND dotted?** A: They seem to be just lined. I love the smoothness of the paper, and the fineness of the lines. The subtle dots to help with guiding lines etc. too is very helpful, and something I miss when using other pads. I use these for my studying, and they have not let me down yet - and I will continue to buy. The shades of pastel are lovely too, and very complimentary.
