They determined that the thin edge of the 302 stainless bracket is less than an 1/8th and corrosion would be negligible. Testing proved their theory. Anecdotally, we put the very first pair ever made in our 2015 F 150 Alum. over a year ago and they are still like new. No corrosion whatsoever.No reports from anyone since Ford introduced the aluminum bed in late 2014. Galvanic action was a factor on the 4001 -classic not these. We are a supplier to FORD on this item-(theirs has a FORD logo) not one case in 22 months.SteveBull Ring Direct **Q: Can someone easily steal these once installed?** A: The screws provided are stainless phillips panhead 1/4-20 x 1 inch. If you are concerned about someone stealing them just use 1/4-20 X1 inch stainless panhead torx security screws. These types of screws are readily available in all screw sizes. That would slow a thief down terrifically. If you are still paranoid about theft(or live in a bad area) then fill the security screw torx head with an epoxy after you are certain of the mounting. I guarantee that no one will steal them and you will have a hard time yourself removing the scew if you ever need to remove the tiedown. **Q: I have a 2015 f150 with a 5.5 bed and a roll n lock . If these are installed, will they leak water into my bed?** A: No. They are installed in the stake holes and are as tight and probably tighter then the factory plastic hole covers. Exact fit for my new 2019 F150!!! (no cutting, no drilling, looks like it was installed by Ford) Extremely well designed, and as an engineer the little details stand out. Very well made. Stainless hardware with brass thread to prevent binding. The tie-down hook locks into place when you pull up on it making it easier to install straps, etc.. but then a small push down and it releases. (No fancy mechanism to break over time, just a simple pin under neath that clicks into a smaller indention.) The molded plastic is high quality, and they even took the time to add the exact same texture to the top as Ford has on their plastic bed rails along the top. (literally looks like the union UAW guys installed it at the Dearborn Truck Plant) Texas designed, fabricated overseas, but well done. Even has a small fish design under bull ring which speaks to this companies integrity.
