I use it for dictation while outside in a windy environment and then I transcribe the recording with Dragon Naturally. Does a fairly good job of dealing with extraneous noises. However these headphones will be tight on your head should you have a big head! I also like to mention that when I used these on Dragon Naturally Speaking and unplug them it seems to reset or not recognize my headphones to the point I have to start all over.
