As far as functionality, this is a five star for me. They lose a star in the ambiguity of the instructions and the icons specifying which tube goes where.Please note, I bought this specifically to suck out the remaining water from my WaterRower after using the manual siphon provided for the purpose. Because this only happens every few years, I can't speak to the longevity of this, nor its use in food preparation.However, the motor is powerful, not too loud, and removed about 6 quarts in a few minutes.

It stopped working after a few uses! I was transferring one gallon batches of mead and during the last transfer, liquid started pouring out of the pump casing in my hand and all over the place. Thankfully I unplugged it before liquid could run down the usb cord into the outlet. Do not waste your money on this junk. And I can't even get a refund!

I got this for transfering kombucha. The filter works really well for catching yeast and is so much easier than using a siphon.

Well I’m a bit disappointed with this one!I bought this for transferring wort water from my kettle to my fermenters, to reduce spillage and mess.The unit cuts out in the middle of pumping, when I get around half way through the transfer process.The output hose is short and it is difficult to hold it and direct the flow of water and other solutions.Several times I had spillage due to juggling the pump and direct the liquid into the kettle, especially when the pump stalled in the middle of the liquid transfer, and while I was trying to get the inlet line to pull the liquid out of the liquid source.I am definitely on the fence with this until

I actually just use this to pump fresh water into my fish tank during water changes, and the functionality of this makes it super easy! I just pop it on the side of the tank, and drop the little filter piece into my bucket of water and turn it on. Makes that chore a little less strenuous. The pump is great quality for a great price.
