**Q: what size are these bricks form front to back and also the thickness please**
A: Hi Mrs Joyce. Side bricks are 170mm (6.7in) overall front to back, but rear edge is chamfered both sides so exposed inside face is only 155mmm (6in). Thickness is 36mm (1.5 in). Brick is chamfered on all edges EXCEPT the base. Nice smooth finish. Good product if it fits your fireplace!.

**Q: Are these suitable for a standard 16" fire grate?**
A: Yes these can be used with a 16" Fire Grate

**Q: What do the bricks do? Are they liners for inside the logburner?**
A: They line the inside of the fire so that you can build a fire using less coal which saves you money. I use mine because my grate isnt a perfect fit for my old fireplace and I could not find a grate whoch would fit. The side bricks stop the coal from falling down the edges underneath the grate.
