I don’t want to remove the lights again.** A: Yes you can. I have a 6ft tree and the bag is 7ft so you have some wiggle room to move the compartments. Ours fit just fine and still had lights attached. **Q: Need a bag that store's a 6 ' artificial tree that come apart** A: Maybe order a smaller size...My tree is 8ft and I still had room for another and my tree was broken into 3 parts. **Q: Will this stand on its own when empty? Does it have protection on ends and sides internally that keep hooks on branches from poking through?** A: It does have protection on the ends however I put a plastic water bottle on the end to add extra cushion. It will not stand square on its own **Q: will it maintain the firm shape or does it become floppy like a duffle bag** A: The square sides in the picture are misleading.
