This kit has 39 pieces. It has authentic details and sturdy construction. No glue or scissors required, easy to assemble, & makes a great souvenir. It is over 9" Tall. The puzzle makes a beautiful desktop display of the statue and is a great learning project. The Statue of Liberty was given to the United States by the people of France as a symbol of the friendship that was established during the American Revolution. The Statue was deisgned by sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and became a joint project with the American's responsible for the construction of the pedastal and the French responsible for construction of the actual Statue and assembling her on a base. Her exterior is covered in copper and the light green color patina, is the result of the copper's natural weathering. There are 154 steps from pedestal to the head. Lady Liberty, as the statue is also known, holds a table in her left hand that is inscribed with the date July IV MDCCLXXVI (July 4, 1776), the date of the United States Declaration of Independence. Her crown contains seven rays which represent the Seven Continents and Seven Seas. It was kind of disappointing. **Q: once you get the very first pieces/layer on,does the second star fit in to the tabs or goes on the first directly?our second star doesnt fit into tabs** A: I am so sorry, I cannot answer your question, I bought this item as a gift for someone else. They said they had fun with putting it together, but that is all I can tell you. **Q: Would this be a good puzzle for a 75 yo with mild dementia? Are the pieces large enough to adult fingers to manipulate?** A: I think I would say no. It has a lot of tiny flaps to fit together which only a ten year old would have the patience and dexterity for. I would recommend instead 100-200 piece jigsaw puzzles for younger children that are still challenging for their grandparents. Or small lego sets maybe? **Q: is this model puzzle made of paper, cardboard, plastic or wood ?** A: This puzzle is foam center with heavy coated paper outer layer. Really nice quality.
