I have super thick hair and i use this device on about 180 mark. I was very pleased as I wanted to take it on holiday. I had read all the reveiews before I bought this brand. It works well, heating up very within seconds and takes even less to curl. I have short fine hair and the tongs give it body and bounce. The only downside is, until you get used to managing it, my hair tends to slide through the tongs as the surface is slippery. I've got a long bog (lob) which I like to style into beachy waves. The barrel is really small and the waves it makes are far too tight for my hair. I have tried using it a few different techniques and reduced the time my hair is heated but the outcome is always the same - the curls/waves are too tight. On the plus side my hair did look really smooth and glossy so if you've got longer hair this may be perfect for you.
