This solder is a good price, good product and solders well with flux. The mistake most people make is not to prepare the pipe and fittings properly. You need to clean the pipe and fittings with steel wool so that the outside of the pipe and the inside of the fitting is bright clean copper, smear flux on both surfaces and apply heat to the middle of the fitting until the solder melts and capillerates. Don't touch the joint for five minutes or there is a danger of movement a d a subsequent dry joint and a possible leak for the future. Remember, soldering means thinking cleanliness is next to godliness. I am a skilled electrical mechanical engineer by profession and was an on screen expert for BBC Watchdog and Rogue Traders for some years and subsequently sworn to honesty.
