You can then screw the entire structure to the wall allowing it to be removed at a later time. To adhere the cork, we recommend using a water based contact cement. You apply contact cement (using a brush) to both the cork and the substrate. Allow it to dry completely. Once dry, the cork is pressed to the substrate and a bond is created. **Q: Can it be painted to match wall color?** A: Yes it does take paint but it does repel oil and water so make sure you give it time to dry. **Q: how do you install the dartboard onto the corkboard? can you screw right into the cork? Will the cork deteriorate around the screw?** A: Do not install the dartboard onto the corkboard. You need to decide how much area you want around the dartboard area. I decided an area of 48" (w) by 36" (h) is sufficient (dartboard in the center). Here is what I did - (1) I used two pieces of corkboard placing the dartboard so the seem was in the middle of the dartboard with the #20 at the top and #3 at that bottom. (2) Using a felt tip pen I outlined the dartboard onto the two pieces of cork - basically two semi-circles; (3) I then cut out the two semi-circles with fine blade jig saw; (4) I tack glued (Gorilla Glue) the corkboard to a piece of 48" (w) X 36" (h) piece of 3/4" MDF. Lowe's or Home depot will cut the MDF for you - of course you need to buy the full 4' X 8' sheet. Assuming you made a good cut - the dartboard should fit perfectly in the circle of the two pieces of corkboard. You can place shims into the crack between the dartboard and corkboard if necessary to preclude it from falling out. This way the dartboard can be removed easily if needed.
