**Q: First time buyer Item is all black slightly damp bag seem clean no smell is is suppose to be like this?**
A: I’ve used it for many years. Good stuff. Your description is normal, and it needs a good rinse. I have, on occasion, not thoroughly rinsed a bag, and when implemented, it emitted a bit of a dark cloud in the tank; but it always cleared itself thoroughly.

**Q: can it be used as media with an Aqua Clear 50?**
A: You can use a chemipure elite bag but I would strongly recommend upgrading to the 11.74 oz bag if you are doing saltwater.  I ran the Fluval/Aqua Clear 50 on my 36 gallon bowfront reef tank and I ran it with the stock carbon bag and it seemed to work pretty well.  I got rid of all the other stock media as it wasn't best suited to saltwater.  If you are running a freshwater setup then I would just ditch the biobag that comes with the Aqua Clear 50 and then use the 6.5 oz chemipure elite with the stock sponge filter and carbon bag.

**Q: From what I've read and heard this stuff makes the water crystal clear.  Is that true?**
A: Yes, but it also depends on many other factors. I've been using chemi-pure for 30 years in different freshwater tanks, and my fish generally die of old age. I have a green cory catfish that is just over 9 years old!

**Q: Will the ferric oxide discolor the water?**
A: The FeO2 will not discolor the water.  Per the instructions do rinse the filter bag with copious amounts of water until the run-off is clear.  You may still see a little of discolored water after turning on the filter with new, rinsed bag, but don't worry as the water will clear up.

I've tried other products with no real improvement,  thought I'd give this a try, omg what a difference,  2 months now and my water is crystal clear, It's a miracle cure definitely recommended 👌

I don`t usually write reviews but I just had to shout loud about this product. I have tried many different products to help with Phosphates and Nitrates in my 100ltr marine tank and non have proved very effective but this little baby is terrific. In just 3 days my tank glass now stays clear, my water is now stable regarding both Phosphates and Nitrates, so at last I have found a product that does what it claims it does, I shall be using this from now on and another good things is that it only needs to be replaced very 6 months.

I have to edit this review as I have seen other comments on this saying “it’s been used, it arrived wet” it is supposed to be wet, this is how it comes 🙈 and others saying it made my tank cloudy, read the instructions first, rinse it in cold water first until the water runs clear. I’ve been using ChemiPure blue ages, as you can see in my Fancy goldfish tank, who are by far the messiest fish, it is super clear.Quick delivery, I use this stuff for my fancy Goldfish 200 litres aquarium,  they are messy and produce a lot of waste, this stuff clears the water in a few hours and doesn’t need changed as quick as activated carbon or Purigen, it’s a little expensive for what it is, I’d give it 4 stars overall, a very good product, but a couple of quid overpriced in my own opinion.
