The metal threads are located based on it facing the wrong way, so with it facing the right way you screw the screws into bare plastic, which is fine, but a bit weird that the metal threads are located for that way round.Still it's very quiet, and works fine, good value. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely quieter than the stock fan *by J***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 December 2020* I put this in my Synology DS218. It sits in a cabinet on some bubble wrap but you could still hear it. This was less than £3 so wasn't much of a risk. Yes it's not silent but unlike before I don't notice it unless I listen for it. I had one issue in swapping which is all Synology, the design for clipping the case together is not good, needed two knifes to prise apart then pull. Installation from Arctic was fine. However.......this is a big thing. You can position this either side facing, one sucks cold air in the other way pushes hot air out. Bear this in mind before closing everything up again. Came with screws too. Instant decrease in noise but I've come to realise it's the power supply fan making all the racket still! 3 pin connector - make sure you buy the right one. Not silent but very quiet.
