They're just the right size for the feet of medium parrots. The sandpapery finish is good and should hold up a long time. The dimensions given were helpful; it connects about 10" from each side of the corner you put it in, so consider doors and other obstructions that might make it impossible to mount. I was lucky that it barely fit inside the door. As other reviewers mentioned, the washers aren't big enough for large parrot cages where the bars are typically an inch or so apart.
