I used to gently lube them, but now I don't bother: they sound and feel great right out off the box. I've also never had to straighten a wire. They are rock steady and with a sparing application of Super-Lube [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0081JE0OO] they are functionally silent. I can't detect any scratchiness added by the stabilizers. It was nice to see the inclusion of bar and housing dampening pads. I was disappointed to discover that while they included a couple spare washers, they did not include a spare mounting screw.
