(Stiff enough that if I bend the hairs back on face brushes it’ll “flick” back.) They ARE extremely SILKY (perhaps that is what other reviewer mean when they say it’s soft?), but they are not soft/malleable. The silky/soft hairs want to stand up straight, not bend and blend product.I’m not even a brush snob and own mostly drugstore brushes, and I was hoping these would be as soft as the $3 black elf brushes but honestly would’ve been happy if they had been like the $1 white elf brushes fr target.Sadly I can’t use them, but they are so travel size friendly I might give them to my mom or my little sister bc the design is just perfect.If you are someone who hardly ever wears makeup or uses/owns brushes, then I could still see this as a good starter set, and it’s compact size is perfect for travel.UPDATE: I’m not sure if I just got a dud since everyone else loves theirs, but I did end up updating my review to 4 stars bc I realize it’s the face brushes that I don’t particularly like, but that’s ok bc decent mini face/kabuki brushes are way easier to find than decent travel sized eyeshadow/eyebrow brushes. I just put my tiny bare minerals brush in and now I’m super happy with the small compact size. It is SO CONVENIENT if you have to pack light, and pack fast. (Also the I actually love the fact that the flat angled brush is strong enough for me to use with brow pomade.) the problem is even if you’re willing to pay for a way more expensive set from a dept store you won’t get anything nearly as compact as this one. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Favorite set of brushes so far *by A***Y on Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2019* It has just what I need, nothing excessive and nothing lacking. The size of it is also a bonus - it's just slightly smaller than my hand, which means I can keep it in my make up kit (instead of separately) and a breeze to bring it with me when I travel. I'm not giving this 5 stars, because although the brushes feel soft and luxurious, it doesn't seem to pick up color very well.
