Aside from the optional length?** A: The strips are 2.25" tall and just over 3/4" thick. Thanks! **Q: Can this be safely mounted to the underside of a cabinet or shelf?** A: The mount holes are made for a vertical surface. If you're creative and good with tools, then you will be able to mount it on the underside of a cabinet. A double sided screw or bolt would be a good option for this type of mounting. **Q: will it stick to side of refrigerator** A: There is no magnetism from the back of the strip. You can definitely use a double sided tape though (3M, Gorilla, etc.). The tape isn't included in the mounting hardware. **Q: Can it be mounted to the side of a cupboard?** A: Yes, the strip can be mounted on wood surfaces. Instead of using the included drywall anchors and corresponding screws, you'd just use screws that are appropriate length for the wood you're wanting to mount it to. I almost expected to receive total junk, given the price, but was shocked by the quality (sans the scratch). The grain is gorgeous. It's solid and heavy duty. The magnetism is strong. Also, I'm confident that it's actually walnut...
