It contains 10 experiments. 6 of the labs are acid/base neutralizations using baking soda and citric acid or vinegar. Then there are three glow in the dark projects. Extra household items you will need are : tonic water, vinegar, hand soap, one apple and 2 Zip Lock bags. The included instructions are easy to understand but unfortunately there are no scientific explanations given for the experiments. All of the labs worked for us. The only two experiments that had unclear directions were for the glowing lava jar and the glow slime. The glow slime instructions are incorrect when it states to add the glow paint after the slime is made. You want to mix it into the glue and water before you add the borax solution. For the lava glow jar, it looks really cool for a very short time and then all the layers start moving around and mixing.
