I grew up using cinnamon sticks from the tiny red and white can, handling them like they were expensive jewels, so when I opened the bag of bulk cinnamon strips I was overwhelmed with sentimentality. It seemed like I'd hit the jackpot - surrounded by the wealth of one of my favorite flavors.A few years ago I visited the home of a woman who grew up in a country where cinnamon grows wild. As I watched her make the chai I couldn't believe my eyes at how liberal she was with her cinnamon sticks. And the tea was fantastic, not merely a hint of the spice as my frugality insisted upon, but a really rich flavorful hot milk drink.So, when I wanted to can some gourmet peaches this Summer I researched bulk cinnamon online and settled on this brand. To my delight, it has the real cinnamon flavor I experienced as a child and continue to love. I make a green tea chai, formerly adding only cardamon, but now adding a cinnamon slice, and I enjoy the tea so much more.Now I put cinnamon in whatever delicacy I want, sometimes tying the bark inside a piece of cheesecloth, for easy removal after infusing the flavor in liquid. I've gone through a pound of it in about 3 months. Normally, I get the entire 5 month stove-season out of a pound of cinnamon. Also, be prepared. They say "sticks" but they are much more like chips, crumbs and powder. These aren't whole sticks, every one was broken into little chips. Not at all what I wanted. I chose this rating because these are a nonreturnable item. Normally I love buying from amazon, but I am not happy with this product at all.
