No, with sawdust the briquettes would not be compact enough. They would break easily. You can mix the sawdust with paper, but only in a percentage of 10/90 per cent. Worth it to reduce waste?** A: Dont think I've found best way to do it yet,but I've made it into strips and soaked in water for two days and still not turned into mush to use in device,seems like a lot of work and lots of cardboard to achieve end product **Q: Is there any assembly with this product ?** A: No it all comes complete, but make sure the paper is shredded and well watered, when briquette is assembled put plenty of pressure on top to squeeze out the water, dry on a tray on a piece of paper ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good way of using waste paper *by A***R on 8 October 2019* Make sure paper is well shredded and wet to go in all corners, makes a good burning block ### ⭐⭐ Disappointed, eventually *by A***Y on 30 June 2019* I was excited to get this machine. I has a different modle for many years, which eventually bent out of shape. I replaced it with a similar medel which lasted about 10 minutes. I bought this one because I was assured from reviews that it was much more sturdy. I was happy to pay 3 times the price for this device compared to the other, more flimsy ones, assuming that it would last much longer.When it arrived there wasa defect. The mesh plate that is attached to the shoe by tack welds was not attached properly, some of the welds had failed. I had to drill out the plate and the shoe and apply rivets. This cured the problem and I was happy to live with this. However, after making about 40 briquettes, the side panels on the shoe buckled. The shoe now does not align with the basket and when I do force it into place, the shoe cannot be pressed down far enough to compress the briquette. All in all very disappointing that the one thing I wanted, the sturdiness, was not there. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Some parts too thin *by C***N on 23 January 2019* I was happy to pay more than some cheap ones available in the hope it would last a long time (we have a lot of shredded paper to dispose of). I've heard complaints the others collapse after 2-3 bricks.I think this one has lasted perhaps 40 bricks, but the triangular sides have now buckled out of shape.
