If you have any scratches, I would smooth them out with some fine grit wet and dry sand paper, and apply a coat or two just to that area in order to match the existing coat before I coated the whole stock. It is a great product, I use it all of the time. **Q: How long to wait between coats of Gun stock wax?** A: I used two pieces of old t-shirt. One each for application the polishing. Each application is a thin coat and instantly polish to desired sheen/shine.
