Works as expected.
I'm using this with my HP Spectre x360 15t and it works very well. I'm using the HDMI, Ethernet, power and both USB-A ports all at the same time without issue. I tried the VGA, which works, but I found that video is only output on either the HDMI or VGA, but not both at the same time which is consistent with other reviews. When both VGA and HDMI are plugged in, the HDMI works. The audio through HDMI is default so I had to manually select my headphones (Using Windows) to get my music to go to the headphones instead of the monitor. The bottom of this device has icons for each input in case you aren't quite sure what they are. It is grippy on the top and bottom so it doesn't slide around on your desk and generally stays put. It isn't so heavy that it can anchor for your cabling, but I'd rather have it be light so I can take it traveling. When I plug it into my USB-C charging port, my computer says it could get better charging performance with a different adapter. For my desktop, I'm going to be sitting here for 8 hours so that is no big deal. If I need a fast charge, I'll skip this adapter and plug straight in. No big deal.

One plug-in cable for everything!
Likes:1) Plug in the USB-C jack, and you can have a desktop experience. One wired connection to your ProBook does it all. Everything else connects to the mini-dock.2) Connect your power cord into the mini-dock also - it charges your ProBook battery as well!3) It does give you a VGA and an HDMI output, thereby giving you options for older/newer monitors.Dislike:1) The mini-dock is not capable of supporting more than one external monitor at a time. This was a big let-down, as that is why I purchased it. There are two video output jacks (VGA and HDMI), but the mini-dock supports the use of only one at a time. This fact was only mentioned in the HP User Manual, which I had to find online. I had to upgrade to a less portable version of docking station (G5 in my case) to get dual external monitor functionality at my workstation. So, ultimately, I no longer use this product.

VGA / HDMI issues. Purchased for USB hub VGA ...
Review updated from 2 to 4 stars. As of 2/5/2018 Product documentation not available at HP support for this product 2SR85AA#ABL. And, paper documentation with dock directs to non-existent page:hp.com/us/usbc_faq. Purchased for use with new HP Envy x360 which has USB charging port. Unfortunately, there is very little online product documentation for my exact HP model and the sales documentation where I purchased the computer appeared to be incorrect. After too much personal research, my new HP Envy x360 has an USB-A Type 3.0 Charging and USB-C Type 3.0 which is non-charging. Unfortunately HP tech support could not tell me this or why the HP-Spectre Travel Dock wasn't working. So, the HP-Spectre Travel Dock Video ports do not work for me. I tried powering the travel dock via the USB-A Charging as well as using the USB-C cable for data. However, Video still would enabled. Evidently, the Travel Dock should automatically trigger download of Windows 10 drivers. So, this seems to be a beautiful little travel dock if you can get it to work with a USB-C 3.0 Charging port if you have one on your computer. There would be five stars if there was documentation at HP and better HP technical support.

Good quality, lightweight and durable construction.
The computer charger USB C connects to on side of the dock, and the cable integrated to the dock connects to the USB C (allowing charging and data transfer) port of the computer. So the dock is in the middle. When connected, the dock allows for charging of the computer and also distributes the various signals in its connectors. Hope it had also a DP port, but the way it comes is just fine. Both sides of the dock have a rubber material with a discrete diamond shaped design texture that looks good and prevents slip.

Works perfectly for taking on the road
This portable docking station works perfectly with my HP Spectre. It makes it possible for me to have two setups and simply unplug and plug in. It's ideal for travel as it is compact. It seems to be sturdy; if I could have one wish it would be a couple more USB ports.

Stopped Working and May Have Damaged My Laptop
Two major things:1. The ports all started dying mere weeks after purchase. First the HDMI would go intermittent. I had to stop using it, and plugged my monitor straight into the HDMI of the laptop. Then the USB ports started dying, so I had to stop using them, too. At the end all I had was my power supply connected.2. Soon after, my battery completely died. Couldn't hold a charge at all, and couldn't be charged. I suspect this, but can't be sure.Overall, I had a terrible experience with this product. It failed and may have led to the failure of my laptop.

Spectre Travel Dock
Work great with my HP Spectre X360 USB-C port. I haven’t tried the pass through charging though as it requires a different connector between the transformer block and the dock, which I don’t have.
