My initial, very critical review of this battery is invalid because I learned after I submitted the review that the battery was not compatible with the Roomba 980 therefore any criticism is invalid. Face palm on me for failing to note in the item description that it was not compatible with the 980, duh. However, notwithstanding the fact that the battery is not designed to run in a 980 it performs all most as good as the original battery; it only lacks a little more staying power to match the original and I've been informed by the company that they're working on a compatible 980 battery. In addition the company graciously offered me a partial refund so that's a customer service five star rating. So, I give this battery a top rating because it performs all most as good as a battery it was never intended to replace. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Worked great *by T***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2023* Battery fit and works just fine on my unit. This battery works good tho 👍🏽👍🏽 ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Room Temperature Dependent Glitches (?) & Early Death *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2020* Lithium batteries work much better than the ni-mh in electric drills, shavers and other appliances. However, my Roomba 780 is designed to charge ni-mh cells not lithium. Circuitry within the lithium battery performs the necessary changes in charging voltage, wave form, frequency or whatever to adapt to the Roomba’s ni-mh charging circuit. This circuitry includes a temperature sensing (thermistor) ability that will shut down the little robot if necessary.And here lies my problem. I purchased this lithium battery to replace a ni-mh battery for a 7-year old Roomba 780 and it runs amazingly great for a total time period of over 4-hours! However, every 60-minutes, or less, the Roomba would stop, sing its error melody, and beep 3-times. Immediately pressing the clean button would provide another 60-minutes of run time. This pattern repeats until the battery is depleted and a declaration made to “Recharge Roomba”. It seems to me that this is a defective battery circuit problem and, in particular, a thermistor defect as I now found it to be room temperature dependent. At, or below, 83 degrees Fahrenheit the Roomba works great. Above this threshold, problems ensue.So, in discussing these glitches with customer service, I was asked to take voltage readings and take a picture. Based on a voltage reading and photo, the battery was declared good. In other contacts, Nastima declared that it must be a wheel obstruction. When I suggested that the problem could be with battery circuitry I was informed that their circuits were fine. In the end, Nastima did offer to refund or replace the battery but I decided that I could live with the defect.-----------------------------Addendum (8-28-2021): The first battery lasted 6-months before completely dying. A second battery sent to me under warranty worked great for another 6-months before dying.
