My 2018 Rav-4 has a slight ridge that the guard goes over as well as a slight curve: the guard is a flexible rubber and fit over the ridge and formed to the curve (while still warm from the sun). Fit under the rear hatch perfectly without touching the bottom lip of the hatch.
