Appeared to have been hand cut. Instead I believe that the rough looking edges are probably because the tape has been cut and rewound. As you can see, there's 3M logo on the backing tape that wasn't apparent until it was unwound. No 3M logo visible on the inside of the spool either. Worked great. Film has clean parallel edges. Installed easily. Review: Good but expensive - Good tape that worked well as as an edge guard for my pickleball paddle. Seems to be good quality and was fairly easy to use and install. The clear color makes it unnoticeable. I knocked it down a star because it is very expensive for the amount of tape you get. ## Features - Reduces paint chips and scratches as well as road debris damage without fading or yellowing - Keeps your car's paint looking newer for longer! - Pressure-activated acrylic adhesive leaves no residue on the surface ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B071K6RNKM | | Adhesive Format | TAPE | | Adhesive Location | tape | | Adhesive Material | acrylic | | Adhesive Side Count | 1 | | Best Sellers Rank | #20,270 in Automotive ( See Top 100 in Automotive ) #17 in Protective Shields | | Brand | VViViD | | Brand Name | VViViD | | Color | Clear | | Compatible Material | Paint, Plastic, Metal | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 out of 5 stars 242 Reviews | | Item Resistance | water_resistant | | Manufacturer | VViViD | | Material | Vinyl | | Material Type | Vinyl | | Model | BHBAZUKAZIND478 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Other Special Features of the Product | No Residue | | Part Number | 3mpaintprtcttp_1x84 | | Recommended Uses For Product | Outdoor, Indoor | | Size Name | 1" x 84" | | Special Feature | No Residue | | Surface Recommendation | Paint, Plastic, Metal | | Unit Count | 7 Feet | | Water Resistance Level | Water Resistant | ## Product Details - **Brand:** VViViD - **Color:** Clear - **Material:** Vinyl - **Number of Items:** 1 - **Special Feature:** No Residue ## Images ![3M Clear Paint Surface Protection Vinyl Wrap 1 Inch Wide Tape Roll (1 Inch x 84 Inch) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71tiP0p7L2L.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Can you use as a vinyl wrap edge sealer on bike, car, etc.?** A: Yes, this works great for that. I wrap the door hinges on my Wrangler with this tape and it has protected against hundreds or rock impacts. Very durable. Clean the paint thoroughly before application and understand that after a while with heat and car washes it will eventually lose adhesion and need to be replaced. **Q: Is there a temperature range for application?** A: Its much easier to work with when the temperature is 60 degrees or above, but I have applied it in the winter (Probably 40 degrees in garage) and it worked fine, just stiffer & not as pliable. **Q: Could this be used to put a protective coating on nameplates on a perpetual trophy? It would need to be able to be removed eventually for engraving.** A: Yes **Q: What width for door edge guards? 1/2 or 1 in.** A: To be honest I was not happy with this product and returned it. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rough looking edges were misleading. *by A***E on June 25, 2026* Roll looked terrible when it arrived. I knocked it down a star because it is very expensive for the amount of tape you get. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I am very pleasantly surprised *by I***R on December 2, 2025* saw others received something different, but for me the item came as described, 1 inch wide and clear (the backing is white), i bought this specifically to wrap my oura ring to protect from scratches. i just got the ring so no prior scratching, and i'm very pleasantly surprised how well the tape adhered to the smooth surface, leaving no bubbles. the thickness of the tape is great for my use, enough to absorb any scratching but not add bulk. i cut it into small strips with a very sharp exacto knife and it worked great. easy to reposition during placement and i imagine it will be easy to remove when i want to swap for a fresh wrap. you can hardly tell it's there, even when looking up close. super pleased with this product! will see how it holds up with daily wear... ## Frequently Bought Together - 3M Clear Paint Surface Protection Vinyl Wrap 1 Inch Wide Tape Roll (1 Inch x 84 Inch) - 3M Clear Paint Surface Protection Vinyl Wrap 2 Inch Wide Tape Roll (2 Inch x 96 Inch) - 3M Clear Paint Surface Protection Vinyl Wrap .5 Inch Wide Tape Roll (.5 Inch x 84 Inch) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/57288922-3m-clear-paint-surface-protection-vinyl-wrap-1-inch-wide](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/57288922-3m-clear-paint-surface-protection-vinyl-wrap-1-inch-wide) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
