Review: Beautiful and unique chalky glaze for smooth surfaces - These glazes are great, and really create their own beautiful and unique coloring when fired. I also love the clear as it does an interesting cracked effect without being actually cracked. These are, as advertised, very chalky and a bit thick so they look amazing on a smooth surface. Potentially try some thinner (which they sell) or a tiny bit of water if you’re doing stamps or etching on your clay, as my experience is the glaze will cover up small etching or stamp work and fill in the indentations so it’s not visible. I still LOVE these, just use them in certain ways and plan to get their thinner to try. Review: Beautiful colors - Daughter loved it. Beautiful colors to choose from ## Features - WHAT'S INCLUDED - Seven 4 fl oz jars of Specialty Series glaze - Glossy Clear, Floating Blue, Chun Red, Purple Rain, Plum Jam, Fire Road and Narwhal Horn - plus a jar of wax resist. - CONE 5–6 MID-FIRE - Formulated for mid-fire kilns at cone 5 and cone 6 (about 2167–2232°F). Always fire in a calibrated pottery kiln, never a kitchen oven, so your results match the swatch. - GLOSSY, OPAQUE FINISH - Fires to a smooth, glossy shine with solid, even color that fully covers the clay body underneath. - READY TO BRUSH & LAYER - Ready to brush straight from the jar. Layer it over or under other glazes for new effects; test first, since thickness and firing change the result. - ART MATERIAL - Conforms to ASTM D-4236 art materials standard. Suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food or drink when fired to the specified cone on the product label. Crazing, pinholing or blistering makes a surface unsuitable; test your own clay and firing. - CONSCIENTIOUSLY MANUFACTURED - At Penguin Pottery, our core values are simple: manufacture responsibly in the USA, craft exceptional products, and support the pottery community by donating 1% of our sales to school programs, community centers, and disaster relief for artists. - LIFETIME WARRANTY - Penguin Pottery products are backed by our Lifetime Warranty. If you have any issues, we will give you a refund or replace your product. See warranty & support section for more information. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0CCG21ZP4 | | Brand | Penguin Pottery | | Color | Specialty Series Set #2 (Mid Fire) | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars (47) | | Date First Available | 8 October 2023 | | Item Weight | 1.36 Kilograms | | Model Number | PP-GZ-MH-SET5 | | Product Dimensions | 12.7 x 12.7 x 12.7 cm; 1.36 kg | ## Images ![Penguin Pottery - Specialty Series Variety Set #2 - Mid Fire Cones 5 & 6 - Includes 8 4oz Jars - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71HipKNQsaL.jpg) ![Penguin Pottery - Specialty Series Variety Set #2 - Mid Fire Cones 5 & 6 - Includes 8 4oz Jars - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/713FkW0OyFL.jpg) ![Penguin Pottery - Specialty Series Variety Set #2 - Mid Fire Cones 5 & 6 - Includes 8 4oz Jars - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71zrod3-OoL.jpg) ![Penguin Pottery - Specialty Series Variety Set #2 - Mid Fire Cones 5 & 6 - Includes 8 4oz Jars - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61NoUETbhrL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful and unique chalky glaze for smooth surfaces *by M***R on 10 June 2026* These glazes are great, and really create their own beautiful and unique coloring when fired.
