Before each use, clean the syringe with clean water: to fill the syringe, use warm water, press first on the pump to release the remaining air. Then place the tip of the syringe into the water and pull the pump until the syringe is filled. Fill the syringe with hot water. Never use too cold or too hot. Do not use the syringe without tips. Rinse the ear, always rinse in a sitting position, with a small bowl under the ear to catch the water. The head should be tilted slightly to the ear. Run the tip carefully and completely in the ear. To flush the ear, slowly push the pump. Repeat the process of filling and flushing until the ear is completely rinsed. Carefully clean the syringe and tip after each use with hot, soapy water. Rinse them well and wring out the excess water. Allow to air dry. Warning: if you experience dizziness or pain, stop using immediately. Do not flush without consulting your doctor. After reading the positive reviews I was hoping this would be a cure as I still had another week before I could get an appointment at the doctors to have my ear syringed.I quickly assembled the syringe and filled a jug of tepid water and started to irriagte my ear. The design of the syringe means that water is not directed at the ear drum. It's a strange feeling After ten to fifteen washes with the syringe my ear popped and my hearing has been restored. I honestly could have wept with joy. I’d been suffering with plugged ears for 2 weeks after a head cold. Home application of ear drops was not clearing my ears and a doctors appointment was 3 weeks away. I was dubious about the effectiveness of anything bought on line, but was so desperate at this stage I was prepared to try. I’m glad I did and it provided instant relief and I can hear again. One ear cleared immediately, the other took a couple of applications but both were cleared within a few minutes. Obviously the fact that ear drops had been used every day in the interim period helped, but I’m sure the wax wouldn’t have been removed without this device.
