Firstly, there were no instructions on how to open the padlock so I had to google that, then I changed the combination from the preset 000 to a familiar number. I know the number, my family know the number, we all witnessed the number being changed and practiced 10 times before the travelsafe was put in its ‘safe’ place. HOWEVER, once in position, the lock wouldn’t open. Absolutely infuriating. After searching online, I now know this has happened to others - even though I and they are completely sure of our combinations. I have contacted the manufacturer but there is nothing that can be done once the preset has been changed. I have had to employ a locksmith to cut off the padlock, I’m just glad it happened at home and not in a hotel room like it did with others. I will now have to buy another cable (and ensure I buy a padlock with a key). Expensive purchase, lesson learned.
