This way they can stay chilled, but thaw out a bit. Also, check your settings on your freezer, you may want to raise the temperature a bit. One other trick is to take it out of the freezer and immediately wrap the pack in a thin towel. Let it sit for a few minutes. The towel will work to insulate the pack and hold in the cold longer, but allow it to thaw.
